How to use it

  1. 1Copy the tweet link (the “…/status/…” URL) and paste it in, then click “Load video”.
  2. 2Or, if you already have the file, drop it in instead.
  3. 3Set the width, frames per second, and max length — smaller and shorter means a lighter GIF.
  4. 4Click “Make GIF”, then preview and download it.

About this tool

GIFs loop, autoplay silently, and paste anywhere — perfect for reusing a punchy moment from a Twitter/X clip. Paste the tweet link and the tool pulls the video straight from the public post, steps through the frames, and encodes a GIF entirely in your browser. The video is fetched directly from Twitter to your device — our server only looks up the link — so your clip never sits on our servers. Tune the width, frame rate, and length to balance smoothness against file size.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paste a tweet link directly?

Yes. Paste the tweet’s “…/status/…” link and the tool pulls the video from the public post automatically — no manual download needed. It works for public X/Twitter posts that contain a video; private or deleted posts can’t be read. You can also drop a video file if you prefer.

Is there a length or size limit?

No hard limit, but GIFs balloon fast, so the tool caps the length (default 6 seconds) and width to keep files reasonable. For longer clips, lower the frame rate or width.

Does my video get uploaded anywhere?

No. The video is fetched straight from Twitter to your browser and converted with a local encoder — it never passes through our servers. We only read the public link to find the video.

Why is my GIF a big file?

GIFs are uncompressed compared to video. Drop the width (e.g. 360px), lower the frame rate (8–10 fps), or trim the length to shrink it dramatically.
